The BETRAD Summer school on Aging Drug Users took place 19 – 21 June in Frankfurt, Germany. 35 participants from 7 countries learned about the aging processes and aged related diseases, health promotion and infection prophylaxis. They also discussed the problems and solutions for better integration of services in the local and national health care settings. Site visits to facilities for people who use drugs completed the 5 day training. Participants said to get inspired to intensify and extend their work for the target group. The aim is to use the training curriculum in their local settings.

  1. Illicit substances and Opioid Substitution Treatment
  2. “Aged, dependent and ill” – Multi-professional case conference
  3. Problematic ethical situations working with the target group
  4. Exchange on social networks, situations and environments of ageing drug users in different EU-countries
  5. Health Promotion and Infection Prophylaxis
  6. Initial aid for new projects: panel discussion
